Obituary for Linda Lucille Davis (Devericks)
Linda L, Davis, 81, of Falling Waters passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at her residence after a long and arduous battle with MS. Born June 21, 1939 she was the daughter of the late Wesley Devericks and Mary Long Devericks.
Linda was educated and worked for many years as a medical technologist. Linda very much enjoyed helping those who were sick, however at the age of 39 Linda decided that she could do more. She took a class to be a realtor, and despite 20% interest rates she put her foot down and said, “I can do this”. Five years later she was one of the top realtor’s in the country including more than 7 years as a member of the ERA real estate’s top 10. In addition to Linda’s incredible work record she found time to raise three boys all of whom have been great successes in their own business’ and lives, including all three having advanced degrees in their fields, which Linda was immensely proud of. On her off time, Linda also found time to not only play bridge in as many as four groups at a time, but also to teach bridge at the local community college. Her husband of nearly 60 years, Jim Davis preceded her in passing on May 22, 2020.
Linda is survived by her three sons, Todd, Mark, and Bryan Davis and their wives Kathy and Natasha. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Elisabeth, Sophia, Phillip, and Rebecca Davis; a brother, Larry Devericks; and three sisters, Patty Neuman, Lorraine Devericks, and Nancy Birch Ready. She was preceded in death by three brothers - Ronnie, Daniel, and Johnny Deverick.
Linda will be remembered for her love of entertaining, cooking, and good taste. She had a loving nature, positive energy, a sharp mind, and an inner strength, all of which live on in the hearts and minds of all of those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life service will be scheduled after COVID-19 concerns have passed.
