Obituary for Lillian Louise "Sis" Pugh (Files)

Lillian Louise “Sis” Pugh, 73, of Glengary passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family.

Born August 1, 1949 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Howard Files and Anna Louise Burkhart Files.

Sis lived in the Back Creek Valley her entire life. She loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. She and her husband enjoyed traveling through Colorado, Wyoming, Virginia, West Virginia and Canada. One of their favorite things was camping at the Arnold Farm on the South Branch River. Sis and her husband traveled the U.S. participating in truck pulls and traveled the east coast watching their daughter Michele and son-in-law Kevin pulling. Sis also enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in Rodeos. She enjoyed hosting family dinners. She was a life member of Back Creek Valley Fire Dept.; EMS Treasurer and a Rescue Lieutenant.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Franklin Pugh; one son, Rick J. Pugh and wife, Wendi; one daughter, Michele Abshire and husband, Kevin; three grandchildren, Lil Rick Pugh and wife, Amber, Hanna Pugh, and Javion “George” Abshire; one great-grandson her “pride and joy”, R W Pugh; one brother, Fred Files and wife, Danette “Vern”; and special friends, Marie Beahm, Dorothy Snow and Esther White.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Gary White.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Central Chapel, 2546 Back Creek Valley Rd, Hedgesville, WV 25427.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Central Chapel with Pastor Kenny Burkhart, Pastor Timothy Butler and Pastor Keith Walsworth officiating. Family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the chapel.

Interment will be in Central Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Chapel, 2546 Back Creek Valley Rd, Hedgesville, WV 25427 or Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Ln., Kearneysville, WV 25430.
