Obituary for Laura Elizabeth Smith Bailey (Catrow)
Laura Elizabeth Catrow Smith Bailey, 97, of Martinsburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.
Born May 23, 1923 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles David Catrow and Nellie Susan (Cushwa) Catrow.
Laura was the last surviving member of her family. She was a cook for the Berkeley County School System for 35 years. She was a member of the New Beginnings Church, and Tuscarora CEOs Club. She loved quilting, and was known for her homemade pickles and bread.
She is survived by her son, James B. Smith, Jr.; two daughters, Ann Hess (Sonny) and Wanda Miller (Gary); four grandchildren, Chris, Lauri, David, and Kirsten; and three great grandchildren, Olivia, Victoria, and McKenna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James B. Smith, Sr., and Charles G. Bailey.
Service and interment private.
