Obituary for Larry Edwin Carter

Larry Edwin Carter of Martinsburg, WV entered eternal rest on April 1, 2021.

Larry was born on November 24, 1959, in Washington, DC to Norman E. & Frances E. Carter and was raised in Hamilton, Virginia. He was educated in the Loudoun County School System, attended Loudoun Valley High School, and graduated with the Class of 1978. His career of choice was in the IT field where he was employed with Perspecta, Inc. of Chantilly, Va. until his death.

Larry was loved by many and was known for his fun-loving personality and caring nature. He loved sports and was an avid Washington Redskins fan, loved to play golf during his down time and enjoyed a good cigar and Crown Royal at his favorite cigar bar in Martinsburg. He loved spending time with his families, taking vacations, eating good food and just enjoyed life.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Frances Carter and his nephew, Jason Jackson.

Larry leaves to cherish his beloved wife of 17 years, Debora Allen of Martinsburg, WV. Two brothers Jimmy (Charlene) and Ricky. Three sisters Betty (Charles), Cindy (Jerome), & Valerie. Three stepdaughters, Angela (Christopher), Shirley (Michael), Sabrina. Two nephews (Michael & Jawann), and one niece (Z’Nya). One living uncle (Lewis) and two aunts (Maxine Carter & Nettie Chinn). Seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Larry will be missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.

The Brown Funeral Home will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing and follow directives.

Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m.
