Obituary for John William Castle

John William Castle, 73, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away on Wednesday, July 6th, 2022 at Berkeley Medical Center.

Born March 22, 1949 in Moberly, MO, he was the son of the late Phillip Arnett Castle and Evelyn (Jellison) Castle. He graduated from Moberly High School in 1967. He married the love of his life, Pamela, in 1977. He was a hard worker and had various jobs over the years, including carpentry and the railroad, but spent most of his time working in the auto industry. John enjoyed many interests in his lifetime, including boating, water skiing, camping, carpentry and spending time with the ones he loved most. He was an amazing ‘PaPa’ to his four grandchildren, Lexi and Ethan Higgs of Winchester, VA and Brennan and Kyler Castle of Kearneysville, WV. He was looking forward to welcoming his first great grandchild into the family later this year. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

John was a man of faith and was a member of Market Street United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was also a member of the Elks Club of Winchester. John is survived by his wife, Pamela (Pfeifer) Castle, their children; John Christopher Castle and Jody Michele Thomas, their daughter-in-law Maria (Silver) Castle, son-in law Kenneth Thomas and their four grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Teter of Jacksonville, MO.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Bruner.

Family will receive friends at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood, WV on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 20th, 2022. Pastor Keiko Foster will officiate.

Interment will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.
