John Franklin Barrick, 82, of Hedgesville, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 peacefully at Willow Tree. He was fondly remembered to many as "Uncle John".
Born, Aug. 13, 1938, in Jerome, Virginia, he was the son of the late Rodney Adam and Lelia Virginia Miller Barrick.
He retired from Potomac Construction.
He had been a member of the Army National Guard.
John loved farming, hunting, wood working and gardening in his younger days. He devoted much of his time and energy visiting family before he passed.
He is survived by two sons, Dougie Barrick and Matthew Barrick, three daughters, Brenda Kief and husband Mike, and Patty Barrick and Deena Barrick; six grandchildren, Travis, Brittany, Colby, RW, Patrick, Derek; four great-grandchildren, Mason, Everley, Easton, Lincoln; one brother, Everett Sydney Barrick; and dear friends, Kenneth Miller, cousin and Lana Barrick, mother of his children.
He was proceeded in death by four brothers, Raymond, Garnett, Lawrence and Medford.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 10, 2021at Brown Funeral Home. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.
Interment will be at Hedgesville Assembly of God Cemetery,
