Obituary for Jeffrey Reed Hollis

Jeffrey Reed Hollis, 69, of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 24 th , 2022.

Jeff was born on February 12, 1953 to parents Charles E. and Eleanor G. Hollis in Martinsburg, WV. Jeff was a current employee of the Continental Brick Company in Martinsburg where he had worked for nearly 50 years. Jeff was very active and involved with many community organizations; including his church, Pikeside United Methodist, Boy Scout Troop 13 of Martinsburg, the Berkeley County Roundhouse Authority Board of Directors, the Chesapeake Insulator Club. In addition to Boy Scouts, Jeff was involved in many local youth organizations throughout his life including Camp Fire USA, Girl Scouts, Explorer Scouting and various church youth ministries. Jeff also had a passion for history. Jeff had a wealth of knowledge on Berkeley County and Martinsburg history. He had a passion for railroad history which lead him to write his book “East End” Neck of the Bottle. Jeff had several hobbies, with his favorite being a passion for Geocaching.

Jeff was a devoted husband and father and a true family man. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Bessie Hollis of Martinsburg. Four children; Jeff Hollis II of Martinsburg, Amanda Grubb and husband Josh of Bunker Hill, Matthew Hollis and wife Christina of Martinsburg, Sarah Pollack and husband Craig of Bunker Hill; eight grandchildren Meredith, Kaitlyn, Kimberly, Ashton, Kristen, Nolan, Zachary, and Cecelia.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles E and Eleanor G Hollis, and his aunt Margie L. Holiis and many other aunts and uncles.

Viewing will be held on Thursday evening July 28 th. from 6-8PM at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.

Funeral services will be held at Brown Funeral Home Friday July 29 th. at 1PM.

Graveside service and interment will be at Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg. A time of fellowship will follow the graveside service at Pikeside United Methodist Church in Pikeside.

In lieu of flowers the family would request memorial contributions be made to Pikeside United Methodist Church Youth Group, 25 Paynes Ford Rd., Martinsburg, WV 25405, or Boy Scout Troop 13 c/o Eric Ells, 220 W. Burke St. Martinsburg, WV 25401.
