Obituary for Jean Carol Persell (Lightbown)
Jean Carol (Lightbown) Persell, 72, of Denver, North Carolina passed away on December 21, 2022.
Jean was born in Bethesda, Maryland on October 19, 1950 to late Edward and Helen Lightbown.
Jean retired from AT&T after 39 years of service. She enjoyed her retirement lifestyle by shopping, spending time with her NC and WV family, playing bingo, going to the beach, being involved with neighborhood events, and thoroughly enjoyed socializing poolside with her closest friends.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Persell; son, Cliff Owens; daughter, Kim Lewis and son-in-law Louis (Pete) Lewis; grandchildren, Abigail Lewis, Erika Lewis, Peyton Lewis, and Tanner Lewis; sister, Barbra Brady, brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and JoAnn Lightbown, and brother, Bobby Lightbown Sr; closest cousin, Janet Brown, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew Bobby Lightbown Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home 327 W. King Street, Martinsburg, WV 25401. Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to a charitable cancer organization of your choice in memory of Jean Lightbown Persell.
