Obituary for Janesa Lorraine Gantt-Northrop (Horner)
Janesa Lorraine Gantt-Northrop, 95, of Martinsburg passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Hospice Inpatient Facility.
Born February 15, 1927 in Martinsburg she was the daughter of the late Hamilton William Horner and Bettie Lillian Files Horner.
She was a member of Independent Bible Church, where she drove the church bus for various activities. She retired from Berkeley County Schools after 20 years of service. She worked evenings at National Fruit. She was a member of the Farm Bureau, Pikeview Garden Club, and Hedgesville Chapter 67 of Eastern Star.
She is survived by three sons, William Henry Gantt, Michael Perry Gantt, and Silven Curtis Gantt; one daughter, Alisa Renee Emmons; grandchildren, Janesa Smith (Timothy), Eric Gantt, Daniel Gantt, Julian Gantt, Michael Gantt, Melissa Gantt, Stephanie Apter (Jonathon), Justin Gantt (Danali), Joseph Gantt (Heilens), Alice Scoggan (Josh), Christian Emmons, Leslie Gantt and Sarah Combs; 12 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Deborah Gantt, Dorothea Gantt, and Dianna Gantt; and son-in-law, Christopher Emmons.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Henry Gantt; her second husband, Arthur Lincoln Northrop; and one son, Frederick Douglas Gantt.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Independent Bible Church, 2306 Hedgesville Rd, Martinsburg, WV 25403, with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.
Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
