Obituary for James Edward Woodward
James Edward Woodward, 85, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Berkeley Medical Center.
Born December 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Calvin Nathaniel Woodward and Pearl Beatrice (Butler) Woodward. James worked as a Salesman at Schmidt Baking Co. He completed his retirement at Rogers County Market, Schmidt Thrift Store and Boltz Hardware. James was a member of the Second Baptist Church, where he was a 50 year Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher. He was also a graduate of Martinsburg High School.
James is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Snyder) Woodward, son Randall Keith (Jenny Lynn); daughters Robin D. Flanigan, Roxanne Browning (Terry); stepdaughters Kimberly Sharp (Kevin), Cindy Caton (Robert); sister, Glenda Zepp; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Russell Todd and Anthony James; stepson Timothy Kirk Grubb; brothers Davey Woodward, Calvin Reynolds Woodward, Richard Woodward; sisters Charlotte Orndorff, Elizabeth Parsons, Velma Little, Dorla Sims, Donna Murphy and Helen May Woodward.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Rosedale Cemetery with Rev. David Irvin officiating.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Second Baptist Church or Hospice of the Panhandle.
