James Curtis Stanley, Sr., 80, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the Berkeley Medical Center.
Born November 26, 1939 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Walter L. Stanley, Sr. and Leona Miller Stanley.
He was employed by the Armstrong Furniture Co.; Forecast Furniture; and was owner/operator of Stanley Upholstering until retirement.
Jim attended Ganotown United Methodist Church. Jim served for fifteen years on the Fire Civil Service Commission, and as chairman for ten years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years L. Deanna Parkinson Stanley; two sons, James C. Stanley, Jr. (Susan), Terry Lynn Stanley (Michelle); six grandchildren, Jessie, JC, Logan, Lynsey, Camden, and Madison; six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bella, Braelynn, Brady, Harper, Oaklynn; and one brother George Stanley (Phyllis).
He was preceded in death by one sister, Eleanor Bowers; and one brother, Walter L. Stanley, Jr.
The Brown Funeral Home will be open for family to receive friends from the hours of 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 10:30AM at Pleasant View Memory Gardens with Rev. Richard Shuman officiating.
