James Earl Bowles, Sr., 74 of Charles Town passed away Thursday, May 11,2023 at home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of hospice. Born June 8, 1948 in Oswald, West Virginia he was the son of the late Waymon William Bowles and Emma Mae Kirk Bowles. James worked for Walnut Hill Orchards for 24 years and William A. Hazel Construction for 24 years. He loved working in the yard and was an avid Washington Commanders fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 52 years, Linda Lou Breeden Bowles, son, James “Jimmy” Bowles, Jr. of Charles Town, brothers, Roger Bowles of Kearneysville and Walter Bowles of Charles Town, sister, Loretta Bowles of Martinsburg, grandchildren, Brennan and Garrett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Billy, Danny, Charlie and William Bowles and sisters, Louise Bowers and Martha Simons.
Services and interment will be private.
