James “Jim” Robert Baker, Sr., 71, of Inwood passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Stonerise Facility.
Born September 20, 1949 in Clarksburg, WV he was the son of the late Robert James Baker and Ruth Emmalene Hammond Baker.
James served in the US Army. He was a General Manager for Rice Tire; he had a BA in electronics and computers at Salem College.
He enjoyed fishing, sports, family gatherings, working on his cars, and anything electronic. He had a great sense of humor. He was a member of Word of Life Ministries in Stephenson, VA where he was Sunday School Superintendent, and Director of “Operation Christmas Child” (shoe-box ministry).
He is survived by his wife, Debra Leigh Baker; a son, Robert Baker (Kathy); three step-children, John Lynes, Shane Lynes, and Renee Tate; grandchildren, James, Matthew, and Caitlyn; four step-grandchildren, Luke, Michael, Dawn, and Katie; two great grandchildren, Kenadie and Emmi; a brother, William “Bill” Baker (Sally); a sister, Jane “Janie” Kirkpatrick; a special daughter, Samantha Jackson (Randy); and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James R. Baker, Jr.; brothers, Ray Exline, Chuck Exline, Eugene Exline, and Tommy Baker; and two sisters, Roberta “Bert” Beverly and Ruthie Baker.
Memorial service will be held at Word of Life Ministries, 1710 Martinsburg Pike, Stephenson, VA 22656 on May 22, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family
