Obituary for Jack Clifford Allen

Jack Clifford Allen, 90, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Berkeley Medical Center.

Born April 18, 1931 in Martinsburg, WV he was the son of the late Stephen Ezekiel and Adda Pearl Robey Allen.

He was an insurance agent with State Farm Insurance for more than forty-years. Multiple Honoree of Annual State Farm Legion of Honor; Past President WV State Life Insurance Underwriter’s Association; and member of Seaboard Region Millionaire Club.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean War Era.

Jack was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church where he served as choir director for almost twenty years and taught Sunday School for sixty years. He served as delegate member of National Uniting Conference – United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the East Coast singing at rallies and with his E.U.B. quartet.

He served on the board for Martinsburg Rescue Mission, C-CAP, chairman of the Board of Blue Ridge Bank; and the Board of Directors with City National Bank.

He is survived by wife, Betty Lee (Jones) Allen; son, Jack C. Allen, Jr. of Boyce, VA; daughter, Deborah A. Corbin and husband Max of Martinsburg; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Allen; and four sisters Helen Ripple, Vivian Stec, Louise Leishear and Jacqueline James.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 11:00AM at the South Berkeley Chapel.

Interment will be private in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.
