Obituary for Hester Samantha Manning (Canby)
Hester Samantha Manning, 98, of Martinsburg passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Elmcroft Assisted Living.
Born January 2, 1923 in Martinsburg, WV she was the daughter of the late Filmore and Sarah Katherine Mason Canby.
She was a charter member of Westview Baptist Church.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. Manning. She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin, Bruce, Paul, Elmer, Filmore, Jr., James and Paul Canby and sisters, Isabelle Jacobs and Helen J. Mahoney.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11:00AM at Westview Baptist Church with Pastor Bryan Dugger officiating, assisted by Pastor Chuck Donivan.
Family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM prior to the service.
Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
