Obituary for Herbert Lee Kilmer

Herbert Lee Kilmer, 88, of Inwood, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Stonerise.

Born December 14, 1932 in Berkeley Co., he was the son of the late Herbert Arnold Kilmer and Milly Frances Kisner Kilmer.

Mr. Kilmer was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force having retired after thirty-seven years of service. Later, he worked for General Motors as a forklift driver. He was a member of Connections Community Church, United Auto Workers Local 1590, Retirees of the Air Guard, and Triluminar Lodge #117.

He is survived by his son, Randall Kilmer and wife, Sharon; two daughters, Kimberly Greenfield and husband, Roy Jr., and Belinda LaMaster, and husband, Alan; five grandchildren, Heather Franks, Denise Owens, Brittany Greenfield, Jefferey Stum, and Sheldon Conrad; and seven great-grandchildren, Kiersten and Katelyn Franks, Dylan, and Tyler Holderman, Isaiah Conrad, Melissa Stum, and Ezra Stum.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Eleanor Elizabeth O’Neal Kilmer on July 20, 2010; a brother, George Kilmer and his wife, Frances; and a sister, Mary Keller.

The Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 18, 2021.

Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at the chapel on Thursday, March 18, 2021 with Pastor Tim Butler officiating.

Interment will be at Rosedale Cemetery with Military Honors.
