Obituary for Helen Baker Armstrong (Downs)
Helen Baker Downs Armstrong, 93, of Union Bridge, MD passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
Born March 29, 1929 in Brookeville, Maryland she was the daughter of the late William Tyson Downs and Lillian Agnes Matulwich Downs.
She is survived by a son, David Armstrong (Monica) of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; daughters, Linda Stacho and her late husband, John of Chambersburg, PA, Teresa Prescott of Frederick, Maryland and Barbara Jean Wastler (David) of Union Bridge, Maryland; six grandchildren, Michele Stacho, Andrea Barnes, J. Stephen Puddy, Jr., Kelli Koehl, Dustin Armstrong, and Britni Denney; and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Armstrong brothers, Robert W. Downs and Stanley E. Downs; and a sister, Evelyn J. Nerland.
A Memorial Service will be held on October 22, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Hagerstown, 17630 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740
Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland at a later date.
