Obituary for Hazel May Kackley (Gantt)

Hazel May Gantt Kackley, 91, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away peacefully to see the Lord on Friday, March 5, 2021.

Born August 27, 1929 in Berkeley County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel S. and Ethel Girnultt Gantt.

Initially, she had been a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church but, later in life, had attended the Church of God.

Although she was the last of her immediate family, she is survived by two sons, Richard "Rick” and wife, Gwen, and Scott Kackley and girlfriend, Colleen Pfiester and two stepdaughters; three grandchildren, Chris, T.J., and David Kackely; and one stepbrother, Woodrow Butts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Kackley. The couple was married on May 7, 1949 and resided in Martinsburg for the duration of their marriage. She also joins a grandson, R.J., three brothers, six sisters, and one half-sister.

The Brown Funeral Home will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.

Funeral services will be at 1:45 PM on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Keith Walsworth officiating. Interment will be at Rosedale Cemetery.
