Obituary for Harold Eugene Sibert, Sr.

Harold Eugene Sibert, Sr. 90, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Berkeley Medical Ceneter.

Born in Jefferson County, WV on Wednesday, September 16, 1931 to the late Trussel Earl and Louise (Howell) Sibert.

He was retired from DuPont where he was an operator.

Harold was an avid gardner, fisherman, cook and baker and as a child of the depression he was an excellent do it yourselfer: an early advocate of re-use, recycle, re-purpose and save.
.
One of Harold’s greatest gifts was his congenial and droll personality. He never met a stranger and loved to joke and tease. Harold endeared himself to many but none more than his children and grandchildren who were blessed to have had him reach the age of 90.

He is survived by his son Harold E. Sibert (Vanessa), daughters Deborah K. Kesecker (John) and Mary Jane Sibert (Tommy) of Martinsburg, sisters Shirley Dick of Winchster, VA and Rebecca of Custis, FL, grandchildren, Jason (Teresa) Kesecker, Matthew (Leighan) Sibert, and Katie Sibert, adopted granddaughter Sandy Murphy, great granchildren Colton Sibert, Trey Hutton and Skyler Sibert, adopted great grandchildren Jasmine Murphy and Makayla Murphy and a special nephew Jerry Sibert.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Rosalee Sibert, brothers, Harry, Bill, Edward, Joe and Warren Sibert and sisters Lola Boyles, Dorothy Sibert and Mary Knipe; and infant great-granddaughter, Kendall Keesecker.

Family will receive friends on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Brown Funeral Home.
