Obituary for Harold David Armstrong Sr.
Harold David Armstrong, Sr., 76 of Kearneysville, WV passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 in the V A Medical Center.
Born November 2,, 1945 in Charles Town, WV he was the son of the late Charles David Armstrong and Victoria Hopkins Armstrong. Harold served in the U S Army during the Vietnam conflict He earned the Purple Heart with one Bronze Oak Cluster, Air Medal with Numeral Three, Vietnam Service Medal with Three Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Marksman Badge with Auto Rifle Bar, Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle and Machinegun Bars, Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Honor Medal Unit Citation. He worked as a heavy equipment operator. He and his late wife loved to take care of animals.
He is survived by one son, Harold Armstrong, Jr. and wife Crystal of Martinsburg, one brother, Gene Armstrong of Charles Town, two sisters, Carolyn “Cod” Turner of Kearneysville and Laura Brown of Kabletown, three grandchildren, Hope Renee, Brianna Marie and Joshua David and great granddog Dixie.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Debra Kay Brown Armstrong who passed away February 17, 2022 and brother, Charlie “Bud” Armstrong.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Pleasant View Memory Gardens with the Pastor Mario Schiano Dicola officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.--1:00 p.m. Monday morning at the Jefferson Chapel.
