Obituary for Gregory Lynn Foster

Gregory Lynn Foster; wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and child of God went to be with the Lord in Heaven on Saturday December 5 following complications of Covid-19.

Greg , 72 years old, was born on June 22, 1948 to the late Edward Delaine and Dorothy Foster. Greg is survived by his wife Linda whom he has been married to for 49 years. Greg and Linda have two daughters; Kara Jill McDaniel and Menda Lynn Dugan and also five grandchildren; Peyton, Amelia, and Beau Dugan and Dylan and Eli McDaniel. He is also survived by sister Suzann Grimm and bothers Wayne and Mark Foster.

Greg grew up in the Falling Waters Presbyterian Church. As a young guy he loved baseball and was coach of the Marlow Ruritan League and was an Eagle Scout from Troop 16. He graduated from Martinsburg High School in 1966 where he was on the wrestling team and a member of the MHS marching band. He graduated from Wheeling Barber College in 1968. He joined the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. Greg trained and raced horses for many years at Charles Town Races. He retired from EI Dupont after 36 years of work there.

Greg was active and lived life fully. In retirement he loved skiing and was a ski instructor and a member of the Mountain Safety Team at Whitetail Resort for 20 plus years. He shared his love of skiing with his girls and all his grand kids. Greg also enjoyed golf and the time spent on the course with great lifelong friends.

Greg attended Independent Bible Church where he was a member of the orchestra. Greg loved the Lord, his family, friends, and neighbors. He lived and enjoyed life and is now celebrating eternity in heaven.

A memorial celebration service will be held at Independent Bible Church on Saturday, December 12, 2020.

Visitation with the family will begin at 11:30AM with the service starting at 1:00PM.

Fellowship at the church will follow.
