Obituary for Gerald W. "Jerry" Reynolds

Gerald “Jerry” W. Reynolds, 71, of Inwood passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.

Born September 12, 1949 in Sandy Hook, MD he was the son of the late Granville and May Crawford Reynolds.

Jerry was an US Army Veteran in the Vietnam War in the 23rd Americal Infantry Division during 1969-1971. He was awarded the Bronze Star, ARCOM with Valor, Combat Infantry Badge, and Vietnam Combat Medal. He graduated from Boonsboro High School class of 1968. He retired as a CO II at Roxbury Correctional Institution, then worked as a contractor security guard for the ATF. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3522, Moose Lodge 948, and the American Legion Post 71. Jerry was a New York Giants fan, loved Elvis, Dale Earnhardt, joking, and spending time with family. Jerry always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He had a joke for everyone.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Reynolds; children, Lisa Reynolds with companion, Eric Waldron, Jerry Wayne Whitmore and wife, Becky, Katee Drish and husband, Justin, and stepson, Randy Vandevender and companion, Phyllis Polkey; grandchildren, Cody Reynolds, Skyler Taylor and husband, Donavan, and Hannah Whitmore and companion, Jeff Spaulding; great grandchildren, Brantley Reynolds, Aberdeen Taylor, and Lillian Spaulding.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Allen Reynolds.

The Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the chapel with Raymond Martin officiating. Interment is private.
