Obituary for Fay Juanita Wright (Deeds)

Fay Juanita Wright, 81, of Williamsport, MD went into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Meritus Medical Center.

Born December 4, 1939 in Keezletown, VA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph W. Deeds, Sr. and Mamie Ellen Pence Deeds.

Fay is survived by her children, Paul and wife Morgan Wright, Jon and his fiancé, Kristin Frace, two grandchildren, John-David and Noah. In addition, she is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Shade, Gail Boarman and Sharon Naf, and three brothers, Hilary Deeds, Danny Bean and John Jeff Naf, along with faithful lifetime friend, Carolyn Stickel and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by beloved husband Reverend John Evans Wright, six brothers, Joseph W. Deeds, Jr., Kenneth Deeds, Readith Deeds, Clay Deeds, Charles Deeds and Robert Deeds; three sisters, Lucille Haun, Annabelle Staubs and Elsie Deeds.

Fay was a graduate of the 1957 class of Martinsburg High School. Following graduation, she attended Shepherd College and pursued her passion of being a teacher in Berkeley County, WV, where she taught elementary school at both John Street and Gerrardstown Elementary schools and was a positive influence and touched the lives of many children. After which, Fay owned and operated her own business successfully in Martinsburg for approximately 25 years. She was a devout Christian who spent a lifetime serving the Lord and supporting several ministries. She enjoyed attending church and studying the bible. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and being with her friends. She was well versed in the scriptures and always welcomed a friendly theological discussion.

Earlier in life Fay really enjoyed walking as exercise and incorporated it into her daily routine. She served as a coordinator for many bike-a-thons that supported Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She was charitable with her time and helped many people she encountered during her life.

The private graveside services will be at Harmony Cemetery in Falling Waters, WV and will be on Monday March 1, 2021 at 2:00pm.
