Obituary for Elsie Virginia Proctor (Catlett)
Elsie Virginia Catlett Proctor passed away on January 9, 2021 at Berkeley Medical Center.
Born January 4, 1933 to Homer and Florence Catlett.
She was one of seven children. Brothers David, wife Carolyn, Glenville, wife Dee of Martinsburg and Phillip, wife Vicky, and a sister, Judy Risinger, husband, Bobby of District Heights, MD. She was preceded in death by brothers, Larry, and Kenneth Catlett.
Preceded in death by her husband, William L. Proctor; and a son Victor. She is survived by daughter, Joyce Englebright, husband, Steve, Mary Shade, husband, Mike, Peggy Proctor, fiancé, Denny Nisewarner, Penny Darlington, husband, Steve, and a son, Steven Proctor, wife, Kathy.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a homemaker all her life and a dedicated wife and mother. In her early years she enjoyed being involved in The Citizens Band Radio Club, selling, and buying radios, parts, and antennas for its many members. She also loved watching NASCAR and golf as well as enjoying her yard and flowers, and growing vegetables.
Family will have a private viewing at 9:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home prior to processing to the cemetery.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
