Obituary for Elinor Maxine Edwards (Saville)

Elinor M. Edwards, 98, of Inwood, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born April 4, 1922 in Hampshire County, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Saville and Anna Wilkins Saville.

She retired from the Berkeley County School Board of Education where she was a cook at Musselman High School.

Elinor enjoyed spending time at the Charles Town Race Track and spending her mornings at the McDonald’s in Inwood. Elinor loved apples and her house was decorated in apple decor.

She is survived by one son, James Edwards and wife, Sandy; three grandchildren Jamie Edwards and wife, Patricia, Kim Barrett and husband, Scott, and Jessica Way and husband, Rob; seven great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and one due in March; one sister, Lila Jean Bard; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Walter Edwards and a daughter, Dianna Lynn Shafer; two brothers, Kermit Saville and Virgil Saville.

The Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. Visitors will be required to wear face mask, practice social distancing, and follow directives.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, at the chapel with Pastors Tim Butler and Rick Sherrard officiating.

Interment will be in Arden United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
