Obituary for Edith Pearl Mills (Roach)
Edith P. (Roach) Mills, 85, of Williamsport Pike, Martinsburg, passed away April 24, 2023, at Sentara Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.
Mrs. Mills was born September 4, 1937 in Elkton, VA. She was the daughter of John Wesley and Pearl (Shifflett) Roach.
She started work at the age of 15 at the Martinsburg Laundry, Interwoven Mills, Royce Hosiery, and Heartland Nursing Home. She was the owner and operated the Little Inn B&B for 15 years.
She loved to cook and embroidering. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by one son, Billy F. Mills, Jr. (Rocky); three daughters, Shelva Kenney, Linda Gall, Brenda Stephens (Craig); special friend, Teresa Spiller of Harrisonburg, VA; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy F. Mills, Sr., September 19, 2000. She was the last of her immediate family. She was also preceded in death by eight half-brothers; six half-sisters; and two special sisters, Geraldine Black, and Elizabeth Roach of Harrisonburg, VA.
Family will receive friends Sunday, April 30, 2023 at the Brown Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Donivan officiating.
Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
