Obituary for Earl James Dick

Earl Dick, 63, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022 at Berkeley Medical Center in the presence of God and loved ones.

Born March 17, 1959 outside Gary, Indiana, he was the son of the late James Kelley Dick and Hertha Louise Dick. He married his high school sweetheart shortly after they graduated in August 1977. After his two sons were born, Earl took a job in 1985 as an electrician with General Motors in Lansing, Michigan and later moved to nearby Grand Ledge in where he and his family would go on to spend the next 30 years of their lives.

After his sons were grown, Earl had the opportunity to spread his wings and transfer to a GM plant in Martinsburg, where he moved with his wife, Cindy, in 2015. In their spare time, they enjoyed exploring the natural beauty of all the places they lived, going on frequent trips with their camper.

A strong, lifelong believer, he attended Cedar Grove Christian Church with his wife. He was a part of the worship team and a devoted member of the church community. Earl was a true servant leader and could always find a way to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly forty-five years, Cindy Dick, his two sons, Jeremiah Davis and Stephen London, four granddaughters, Malia, Avilene, Alessia, and Livia and two brothers, Lee Dick and Ed Dixon.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 pm on July 16, 2022 at Cedar Grove Christian Church, 2320 Sulphur Springs Rd, Inwood, WV 25428.

He requested that a portion of his ashes be scattered from a hot air balloon over Northern Michigan in memory of a favorite adventure he once shared with his wife.
