Obituary for Dennis E. Hutzler

Dennis E. Hutzler, 70, of Inwood passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at home under the care of Hospice from a short battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Born September 25, 1950 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Alston and Ella Hutzler.

Dennis worked at 3M and later Imation. He went on to work for CSX Railroad and later retired from Winchester Western as a Conductor in 2015. When he retired, Dennis took on a big part of watching his youngest grandchildren. He looked forward to his weekly “babysitting” day. He was an avid hunter, all that knew him knew he loved being in the woods.

He is survived by two daughters, Bethany Bowen and husband, Jimmy, and Erika Bowers and husband, Kelly; four grandchildren, David and Kaysey Bowen, and Brooklyn and Owen Bowers; ex-wife and care giver, Sharon Hutzler; a brother, Tom Hutzler; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Marvin Holmes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Hess.

he Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.

Interment will be private.
