Obituary for David E. Wright
David E. Wright, Sr., 92, of Bunker Hill, WV passed away at Lynn Care Center, Friday, April 14, 2023
Born in Berryville, VA April 6, 1931. He was the son of the late Eugene F. Wright and Leora Kackley Wright.
David and family moved to Bunker Hill when he was 10 years old.
David owned and operated The David E. Wright Excavating for 28 years. After selling the business, he was employed at William A. Hazel, Inc., Chantilly VA., and Perry Engineering Company Inc., Winchester VA. for six years. He was a heavy equipment operator for both companies.
David enjoyed deer hunting, watching The Washington Redskins play on the television and enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren for dinners.
David is survived by his wife Patricia A. Wright, together for 63 years; two sons, Anthony “Tony” Wright (Karmen), and David Wright Jr., (Kathy); five daughters, Victoria Lord, Christine Zirk ( Michael), Sonja Johnson (Willie), Denise Wright, and Barbara Wright and Fiancé Paul Baker; five grandsons, James, Jonathan, Anthony, Nicholas, and Zachary Wright; four granddaughters, Amanda Renteria, Hannah and Sarah Wright, and Taylor Lord Droz; and five great grandchildren, Henry, Karsen, Mary, and Della Wright and River Renteria.
He was preceded in death by his sister Evelyn Kane, and brother-in-law Paul Kane.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday April 20, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel.
The family will have a visitation two hours prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 2:00pm at the South Berkeley Chapel.
Interment will be at the Bunker Hill Cemetery.
