Obituary for David Lee Ness
David Lee Ness, 74, of Martinsburg, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Hospice of the Panahandle.
Born July 7, 1948 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Edward William Ness and Mabel R. Marker.
David worked for the City of Martinsburg at the Martinsburg Police Department for over 40 years.
David is survived by his brother Albert Ness; nieces and nephews, Sharon and Gerald Kauffman, Jr., Belinda and Steve McDonald, Fay Gano, James and Patty Gano, Jr., Sandy Gano, Darlene and Mike Trail, George Gano, Brian and Mikki Gano, Elmo Gano, Jody Clark; a large number of great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Bill and Paul.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Franklin Gano Sr.; sister, Jeanette Clark; sister-in-law, Barbara McKenzie; niece, Connie Gano; nephew Cecil Clark; great-nephews, Ryun Teng, Sean Paul Tith, Antoine Olinger; and great-niece, Aubrey F. Tith.
He was under the caregivers of the family for four years, Fay Gano, Sharon Kauffman, and Sandy Gano. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Panhandle and the employees of Patterson Drug Store for their care and compassion.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Brown Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
