Obituary for Dave Thomas III

Dave Thomas III, age 61, departed this life on Tuesday, May 17, 2021, in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Dave was born April 25, 1960, to the late Juanita Morrison and Dave Thomas Jr., in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Dave received his early childhood education attending a variety of schools overseas and stateside, as he traveled with his parents during their military career. He completed his secondary education in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools and graduated from Arundel Senior High School, Gambrills, Maryland. After high school, Dave enlisted in the United States Navy and honored his country by serving for four years.

He was an active member of Covenant Church in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.

Just to name a few of Dave’s hobbies, as he had many, he enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, and traveling around the world. He was also an avid gamer.

Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Morrison; father, Dave Thomas Jr.; and nephew, Byron Fate.

He is survived by his children, Sukumari, Brittany and Eyrnne Thomas; stepfather, Marvin Morrison; sisters, Kim Scott, April, and Adrianne Thomas; brothers, Michael Morrison, and Jason Bigness; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his devoted and long-time friend, Belle Carter; and her son, Jonathan; and a host of loyal friends. Dave’s presence, intelligence and great sense of humor will be tremendously missed by all his loved ones, family, and friends.
