Obituary for Claudette Downs (Merrill)
Claudette Merrill Downs, 76, of Martinsburg passed away Friday, July 22, 2022 at Berkeley Medical Center.
Born March 31, 1946 in Hendersonville, NC she was the daughter of the late John Merrill and Ruby Justus.
Claudette is survived by three sons, Harry M. Downs, Jr. (Hollie), Harry E. Downs, and John Downs; five daughters, Melanie Rutherford (Josh), Cindy Brady, Geraldine Kump (Bruce), Patricia Cardell, and Michelle Harrington; sister, Roselynn Chumley; twenty-four grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Downs, Sr.; daughter, Kathy Downs, and several brothers and sisters.
Services and interment are private.
