Obituary for Charles Elwood Jones
Charles Elwood Jones, 80, of Kearneysville, WV passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at his residence.
Born October 27, 1940 in Martinsburg, WV he was the son of the late Raymond Glen Jones and Edith Alberta Shirley Jones.
Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church in Inwood. He was employed for more than fourty years at Powhatan in Ranson. He was an avid gardener and loved his family and the outdoors.
He is survived by three sons, Charles Jeffrey Jones and wife, Frauke of Hedgesville, Matthew Russell Jones and wife, April of Inwood, and Mark Wesley Jones and wife, Tricia of Bluefield, VA; one daughter, Kathy Jones of Middleway; six grandchildren, Andrew, Mercedes, Jennifer, Kathlyn, Molly and Wesley; three great grandchildren, Bryson, Norah and Silas; one brother, Garry Jones; and one sister, Louise Kline.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Liskey Jones; and one sister, Shirley Hoover.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Inwood, 634 Middleway Pike, Inwood, WV 25428 with Pastor Devin Ward officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.
Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Ln., Kearneysvillle, WV 25430.
