Obituary for Charles Allen "Butch" Braithwaite
Charles “Butch” Allen Braithwaite, 76, of Martinsburg went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Berkeley Medical Center.
Born August 21, 1944 in Martinsburg he was the son of the late Edward Braithwaite and Hazel (Carrier) Braithwaite.
Charles served in Vietnam with the US Navy on the USS Ernest G. Small. He worked at Dupont as an Explosive Tech, the Water Company, and the Bethany House. He played football at Martinsburg High School. He was an active member at IBC and a facilities manager, loved gospel bluegrass, playing the guitar and harmonica. He was an amazing father and husband.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Mason) Braithwaite; a daughter, Denise Sullivan and husband, Edward; a stepdaughter, Melissa Mauk and husband, Jason; two stepsons, Brian Beard and wife, Annette, and Matthew Beard and wife, Desire; three grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Hehle.
All services will be private, however if you wish to participate, services will be live streamed on IBC website Friday December 11, 2020 at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Martinsburg Rescue Mission, 608 West King Street, Martinsburg, WV, 25401.
