Obituary for Carolyn Herrell Bowers
Our precious mother, Carolyn Herrell Bowers, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 14, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Bowers. She was born on May 2, 1942, in Martinsburg, WV, the only child of the late Clark and Adaline Herrell.
She was raised in Martinsburg and graduated from Martinsburg High School in 1960.
Before retiring in 1998, she was employed with the United States Air Force in Arlington, VA and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg.
Carol was a steadfast and true source of strength for our family. She devoted her life to us and left behind beautiful memories. She was a thoughtful and empathetic listener who comforted others. We adored her.
She is survived by her daughters Pamela Bowers Botic (G.R.) and Jennifer Bowers Duckworth (Brian), grandsons Drew, Tyler and Alex, and great-grandchildren Peyton and Killian.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 18, 2020, at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg with Pastor Tom Snyder officiating. Interment will be at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 12:00 to 1:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol's name to the Wounded Warrior Project at support.woundedwarriorproject.org or the charity of your choice.
