Obituary for Carl Simpson Busey, Sr.
Carl Simpson Busey, Sr., 91, of Martinsburg passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Care Haven.
Born May 10, 1931, he was the son of the late Lacey W. and Blanch Mae Simpson Busey.
He was a veteran of the US Army, serving a tour in Germany. Carl attended Washington Bible College and pastored the Church at North Mountain in Hedgesville for twenty-nine years after retiring from the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed his McDonald’s fellowship with friends and retirees for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lou Smith Busey; son Carl S. Busey, Jr. and wife, Sharon; daughter Ernestine Firaben and husband, Robert; grandchildren Amber Day, Laura Busey, Grace Reddy, Hannah Carter, Sarah Firaben, Rachel Proffitt and Christina Arneson; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his brother, Marshall Busey; and sisters Theresia Young and Daniece Myers.
Family will receive friends on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.
