Obituary for Carl Anderson Burleson
Carl Anderson Burleson, 92, of Bunker Hill passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.
Born January 15, 1929 in Buncombe County, NC he was the son of the late Samuel Garfield Burleson and Hansly Lee Burleson.
Carl was a founding member, along with his brothers of Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Clear Brook, VA. He loved God. He retired from Crown Cork and Seal. He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. He loved his family and spending time with them. He and his second wife Louise enjoyed traveling up and down the east coast and spent several winters in Florida.
He is survived by three sons, Mark Anthony Burleson, Brent Burleson, and Jay Kindle Burleson; one daughter, Carla Joe Shirley; his former wife, Hilda Louise Burleson; eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Lou Gowdy, Joy Love Maslowski, Margie Anderson, and Alice Faye Carter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, Maurice, Craig, Luke, Elmer, Troyce, and Lawdon Burleson; and two sisters, Annie Lloyd and Bertha West.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Bible Fellowship Church, 643
Grace Church Rd, Clear Brook, VA 22624 with Pastor Tim Hartley officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.
Interment will be at Grace Bible Fellowship Church Cemetery.
