Obituary for Bonnita Fay Kenney (Morgan)

Bonnita Fay (Morgan) Kenney, 68, of Falling Waters, passed from this life into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 5, 2023, surrounded by loving family members. Her last few days and hours of life on this earth were made much more comfortable by the amazing second-floor staff at Berkeley Medical Center.

She was the daughter of Jacqueline Elaine (Cosgrove) Morgan and the late John Threston Morgan. She was born on October 4, 1954 in Columbus Georgia. She attended Martinsburg High School, Shepherd College, and West Virginia University, obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and nearly completing a Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance. Bonnie had been a music teacher, bank teller, administrative assistant, and customer service representative for JC Penney and Warner Cable.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, David Lee Kenney; mother, Jaqueline Cosgrove Morgan; sisters Kathy E. Morgan and Dena G. Morgan (husband, Todd Glover); as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

While Bonnie’s life was severely impacted by anorexia nervosa which ultimately led to her passing, she never lost her love for Jesus, His Church, her husband, and her family. She loved spending time in God’s Word and before her health declined, she would be in church any time the doors were open. She was a member of Independent Bible Church and was in the process of becoming a member of CenterPoint Bible Church.

Services will be held at CenterPoint Bible Church on Saturday, April 15. Family and friends will gather at 10:00 for the viewing, 11:00 for a celebration of life, and 12:00 for food and fellowship.

Internment will be at Rosedale Cemetery with a brief graveside service at 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, it was Bonnie’s wish that donations be made to Independent Bible Church, CenterPoint Bible Church, or the Martinsburg Rescue Mission.

Arrangements by Brown Funeral Home.
