Obituary for Betty Lou Rehrer

Betty Lou Rehrer, 82, peacefully passed into our Heavenly Fathers arms on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from Care Haven Nursing Home.

Born August 3, 1938 to the late William Otto Wilson and Iris Drucilla (Frazier) Wilson, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Rehrer of Middletown, Pennsylvania and one infant brother, William Otto Wilson, Jr.

Betty was a 1956 Graduate of Martinsburg High School and worked, as many Martinsburg young people did at that time, at the Perfection Garment Company and as a waitress at Towers Restaurant. Later Betty trained and was certified by the Veterans Administration as a Nursing Assistant and retired with gratitude after 27 years of service from the Martinsburg VA Medical Center.

She was a lifelong member of Bethel Pentecostal Assembly of God, attending in the original church on Virginia Avenue and on Tavern Road when services moved to that building. She was most recently an active member of Bethel’s “Inspire Senior Adult Ministry” and specifically, the “N-Joy Class” with other Christian brothers and sisters who had worshipped alongside her at Bethel for decades.

Betty blessed others continually throughout her life with her kindness and humor, her handwritten cards and letters, her prayers, and her humble heart of Christian service ensuring others had what they needed even when that meant she would make do with less.

She is survived by her immediate family of sons William and Terry Rehrer, daughter, Dianne Rehrer of Martinsburg, grandson, Dallas Rehrer residing currently in St. Louis, Mo and two brothers, Marvin Eugene Wilson and wife, Carolyn, of Martinsburg and James David Wilson and wife, Dorothy of Winchester. She is remembered and dearly loved by all including many Church-family friends and her extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews from within the Frazier and Wilson families.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant View Memory Gardens with Rev. Ralph Campbell of Bethel Assembly of God officiating. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.

Arrangements by Brown Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Social Services and Community Outreach Office at 111 Ellis Street Martinsburg, WV 25404 (304-267-4612).
