Obituary for Barbara Jean Skillman (Pearson)

Barbara Jean (Pearson) Skillman, 83, of Falling Waters passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at her residence.

Born February 21, 1937 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Howard Samuel Pearson and Pearl Loretta (Smoot) Pearson.

Barbara worked for the Government as a computer program analyst and was of Episcopalian faith.

She is survived by two sons, Carl Skillman and partner, Gary Carpenter, and David Skillman and wife, Marissa; three daughters, Brenda King and husband, Joe, Deborah Malberg, and Cheryl Dunham and husband, Jesse; and a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Russell Skillman; two brothers, Carl, and Howard Pearson; and a sister, Birdie Mills.

A memorial service will be held at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood on January 24, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.

A fellowship will follow from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.
