Obituary for Arthur Leon Jones
Arthur Leon Jones, 83, of Gerrardstown, WV passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 while under the care of his family and Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born November 27, 1937 in Decatur, IL; he was the son of the late Edward Lawrence Jones and Ruby Eunice Smith Jones.
He was a member of Pilgrim Presbyterian Church. He was a tractor trailer driver and mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Joan Ping Jones; two sons, Jeffrey Leon Jones and wife Sonja of Gerrardstown, WV, Jerry Alan Jones and wife Amanda of Snellville, GA; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Michael Jones and wife Terri, both of Decatur, IL; and one sister, Linda Wilhelm and husband Wayne of Decatur, IL.
He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Edward Jones; two brothers, Lawrence Jones and Joseph Jones; and two sisters, Rosemary Young, and Lavonne Durbin.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 2:00PM at Pilgrim Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kirk Blankenship officiating.. Family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM.prior to the service. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be can be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
