Obituary for Arbutus Corinne "Boots" Curvey
Arbutus “Boots” Corinne Curvey, 83, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 25, 2022.
Born September 17, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Osbourne Shipe and Dorothy (Carpenter) Shipe. Arbutus graduated from Shepherdstown High School in 1958 and attended Shepherd College. Before moving back to Maryland, she taught nursery school at the Phoenixville, PA YMCA Wooden Shoe Program.
She is survived by daughters Kimberly K. Palmer (Eugene) of Clear Spring, MD, Stephanie D. Seward (Jeffrey) of Smithsburg, MD; grandchildren Kaitlin Palmer, Benjamin Palmer (Alora), Lauren Seward-Pang (Jonathyn), Emily Seward and great-grandchildren Sophie Palmer and Noah Pang.
Aside from her parents, Arbutus was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Rev. Paul Howard Curvey in 2014.
Services will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Donivan officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Christ Reformed Cemetery in Shepherdstown, WV.
