Alvin “Reggie” Williams, Jr., 73, of Martinsburg passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Berkeley Medical Center.
Born July 2, 1947 in Berkeley County, he was the son of the late Alvin Williams, Sr., and Dora Elizabeth Lee Williams.
Reggie served in the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard. He retired from General Motors after 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, fishing, golfing, WVU sports, the Denver Broncos, and the Boston Red Sox. Reggie was also known as PapPap, to his grandchildren, and was their biggest fan. He loved attending and cheering them on at all their events. Reggie was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Theda Porterfield Williams; son, Almondo “Rico” and wife, Jannelle and their children, Donte, Cierra (Logan), Kira, and Cameron; son, Reginald Williams and wife, Mia-Faire and their children, Jasiah, Makhi, and Laila-Faire; son, Chad Williams and wife, Angela and their children, Ethan, and Lincoln; daughter, Nataisa Williams, and her children, Latrell, and Tyron; daughter, Summer Files and husband, Philip and their children, Sheldon, Cannon, and Selah; daughter, Jennifer Brown; great grandchildren, Bryson, and Keegan; three brothers, Ronald, Antonio and wife, Kim and Juan; four sisters, Linda, Irma, Carrie and husband, Terry, and Sonia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles “Turtle”, and Little Harry.
The Brown Funeral Home will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Monday February 8, 2021. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Hall officiating.
Interment will be at Hedgesville Cemetery.
