Obituary for Alcy Ray Cave Jr.

Alcy Ray Cave, Jr., 85, graduated to Heaven, Thursday, February 16, 2023 from his home in Quinton, VA.

Born February 24, 1937 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Alcy Ray Cave, Sr. and Bessie Virginia Gantt Cave.

Alcy was a Flying Status Load Master in the U.S. Air Force, he retired from the military after 22 years. He received medals for, National Defense, and Armed Forced Expedition. He was the developer of the Neilland Park subdivision and helped to build the Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church Building.

He will always be remembered for his clever sense of humor, his hard work ethic, and his zeal for learning and sharing the wisdom found in the pages of God’s word.

His legacy is found in his wife, Wanda Rae Byers Cave; daughters, Tamara Gail Grindheim (Kevin), and Kelli Renee Lieder (Neil); son, Alcy Ray Cave, III “Trey” (Elizabeth); sister, Connie Toup; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Cave, and Margaret “Margy” Cave.

A celebration of life service will be held in Virginia at New Hope Church on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 3:30PM, 6475 Parrish Rd., Providence Forge, VA 23140.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 11AM at the Brown Funeral Home. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Maranatha Memorial Gardens.
