Obituary for Curtis Leon "Curtie" Shade
Curtis “Curtie” Leon Shade, 86, of Bunker Hill passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Clary Grove.
Born May 26, 1933 in Martinsburg, WV he was the son of the late Harley Oscar andDorothy Clara Files Shade.
He was retired from Corning Glass Works. He was a veteran of the US Marines having served in the Korean War. He loved to travel to 49 of the 50 states and enjoyed his “coffee club” at Burger King.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Deeds Shade; two sons, Darren Lee Shade and Curtis Scott Shade; one step-daughter, Paula Jo Walker; five grandchildren, Autumn Cullen, Candace Wisecarver, Amanda Cole, Jessica Shimel, and Logan Shade; step-granddaughter, Marissa J. Walker; fourteen great-grandchildren, Trey Wisecarver, Abigail Wisecarver, Amaya Cole, Camaeron Cole, Chloe Shimel, Catatine Shiumel, Scott Jr., Layla Shade, Jaiden Shade, Isabel Shade, Christian Shade, Levi Shade, Stella Shade, and Myer Cullen; and one sister, Shirley J. Mose.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Doris Christine Fox, Delores Bowers, and Patricia J. Campbell.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
