Obituary for Donald L. "Donnie" Pittsnogle
Donald “Donnie” L. Pittsnogle, 76 of Hedgesville, WV, passed away late Friday, January 31, 2020.
Donnie was born on September 20, 1943 in Martinsburg, WV to the late William D. Pittsnogle and Alma L. (Western) Pittsnogle.
Donnie was a retired Professional Firefighter of Martinsburg City Fire Department where he served 20 years. He was also a member of Westphal Hose Co. 5 and AFL-CIO Local 805. He retired from Berkeley County Schools after 40 plus years as a school bus driver. Donnie made sure to stay a staple in both communities long after his retirement.
He was a member of the Red Men Lodge #84 in Williamsport, MD. Donnie attended Central Chapel in Hedgesville, WV.
Donnie is survived by his son, Brad A. Pittsnogle, daughter, Renee Williamson, granddaughter Taylor Williamson and brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Pittsnogle.
In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by four brothers, Jerry Pittsnogle, Terry Pittsnogle, Michael “Mike” Pittsnogle, and William “Bill” Pittsnogle.
Despite Donnie’s tough exterior, he was known for his heart of gold and caring deeply for anyone who crossed his path.
A memorial gathering will be held on March 7, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Central Church located at 2546 Back Creek Valley Rd, Hedgesville, WV.
