Obituary for Marguerite Rose Pearson (Posey)
Marguerite Rose Posey Pearson, 105, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at her residence.
Born May 4, 1914 on Long Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Clotilde Buchanan Posey.
Marguerite grew up in Alexandria, VA with her parents. She married her husband, James W. Pearson in February 1928. They were together throughout his Naval and civil service career until his passing in March 1992. During her lifetime, Marguerite was a loyal Navy wife and mother, and lived with James in Guam, Pearl Harbor, HI, Winter Harbor, MN, and for many years in retirement in DeLand, FL, prior to coming to Martinsburg. In her later years Marguerite enjoyed reading all kinds of novels and spending time with family and friends. She had an infectious laugh.
Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Judy E. Clouse of Charles Town; three grandchildren, Christopher Clouse, James Clouse, and Susan Haggerty and husband, Michael; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Andrew Haggerty; one sister, Rose Marie McIntyre and husband, James, of Mobile, AL.
The family wishes to thank Marguerite’s friend and caretaker Stephanie Slick and the staff at Panhandle Hospice and Elmcroft Senior Center for their care and support during her final days.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Brown Funeral Home with Chaplain Wayne Clark officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
