Obituary for Patricia Louise Huffman (Hollida)

Patricia Louise Hollida Huffman, 91, of Martinsburg, entered eternal life on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Elmcroft of Martinsburg under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle, surrounded by family.

Born on September 10, 1928 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Morehed C. and Irene Billmyer Hollida of Martinsburg.

She was a 1946 graduate of Martinsburg High School and a graduate of the WV College of Beauty Culture. On May 21, 1950 she married N. Ray Huffman, they were married for 68 years until his passing on June 25, 2018.

Pat was a 50 year member of Pikeside United Methodist Church where she had been member of the choir, president of the United Methodist Women, a Sunday School teacher and a member of the ladies quilting group.

She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She quietly served her God and family with a humble heart.

The mother of four, she has three sons, William R. Huffman and wife Bonnie, Stuart W. Huffman and longtime friend Elaine Merceruio, and Kevin G. Huffman and wife Cheryl; one daughter, Mary Louise Rouse and husband Mitch all of Martinsburg; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, JoAnn Keller of Hagerstown, MD; one sister-in-law, Emma Jane Hollida of Front Royal, VA

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Morehed C. Hollida, Jr., Donald M. Hollida, and John L. Hollida; one sister, Mary Lee Sencindiver; and one granddaughter at birth.

She was loved by all for her sweet demeanor, sense of humor and quick wit.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Elmcroft of Martinsburg and Hospice of the Panhandle for their dedicated care and devoted attention.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 1:30 PM at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Ball officiating. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
