Obituary for Rebecca Sue Dobaczewski (Hatas)

Rebecca Sue Dobaczewski, 76 of Falling Waters, WV died on November 18, 2019 at her home under hospice care, surrounded by her loving family.

Daughter of the late Thomas Hatas, Jr. and Dorothy (Gladish) Hatas.

Born in Toledo, OH raised in Perrysburg, OH, and Grand Rapids, OH.

Graduated from St. Rose Catholic School Perrysburg, OH and Perrysburg High School, Perrysburg, OH.

A Graduate of Davis School of Business, worked in Management in the Banking industry with the former Lucas County Bank, now Huntington Bank, United Savings & Loan; and Walgreens as a Pharmacy Tech/Cashier.

A member of the CYA (Coalition with Your Adults) Society. Worked on props for the various theatre productions for the CYA. An active bowler with the CYA and the Toledo Bankers Bowling League, had the nickname of “Bounce”.

Rebecca was an active worker on her parents Apple and Peach Orchard, known as Hatas Orchards/ Grand Rapids, OH.

Because of her husband’s job transfers/ relocations lived in the States of Michigan, Ohio, Maryland, and West Virginia.

She was an active Daisy, Brownie, Girl Scouts, Super Troop Leader. She enjoyed working with the young youth with her many creative skills, artistic skills to help develop these young girls’ overall skills. An Eagle Scout Mom.

An author of the book “Dorothy” and the cooking book named “Family Recipes from Hatas Orchards/Grand Rapids, OH”. She was an inventor, photographer of various colorful posters.

Was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Inwood, WV for 12 years.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Gary Dobaczewski; son, Eric Dobaczewski of Denver, CO; daughter, Rosanne Dobaczewski of Cincinnati, OH; her brothers Tom Hatas, II of Toledo, OH, Peter Hatas of Corpus Christi, TX; brother-in-law, Chris Dobaczewski (Dianne) of Northwood, OH; nephew, Christoper Dobaczewski (Carrie) of Wauseon, OH; niece, Jodie (Jeff) Jaquillard of Northwood, OH; three grand-nieces Cailey Dobaczewski, Chloey Dobaczewski, and Carley Dobaczewski of Wauseon, OH.

A viewing will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 5:30PM to 7:30PM at the Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg, WV.

Becky’s body will be taken to the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home at 501 Conant Street, Maumee, OH. A viewing will take place Friday Evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church located at 6149 Hill Ave, Toledo, OH.

Burial will follow the mass at the Highland Memory Gardens 8308 S. River Road, Waterville, OH 43566.
