Obituary for Lester L. Landis Sr.
Lester L. Landis, Sr., 87, of Falling Waters passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.
Born October 8, 1932 in Marlowe, WV he was the son of the late Leroy Landis and Grace Tosten Landis.
After attending local schools, he served in the US Army during the Korean War. Upon leaving the service he went to work for Old National Bank and after working for over 39 years he retired from BB&T. He was a life-long member of Bedington United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, yard and estate sales. He also enjoyed making his butterscotch cookies as a family Christmas tradition.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rachel McKee Landis and sons, Lester L. Landis, Jr., Dorothy, and Marian; Lynn Landis, Lisa, Adam, Brittany, Dezirae and Kevin Farrell, Chris, Angie, Haiden, and Moxie; Larry Landis; and two brothers, Norman and Jerry.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 11:30AM at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Summers officiating. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Bedington United Methodist Church, 580 Bedington Road, Martinsburg, WV 25404.
